Artwork Guidelines
  • PrintPlush Logo Mat

    Design Guidelines

    • Optimal file types: Vector files i.e. .eps, .pdf, .ai.
    • Save only what you want to appear on the mat - please do not include comments in the same file.
    • Please ensure all lines/strokes in the design are a minimum of 10mm (8 pixels).
    • The thickness of a logo or text that is a light colour on a dark background must be  a minimum of 7mm (5 pixels) - although we suggest 10mm (8 pixels).
    • The thickness of a logo or text that is a dark colour on a light colour background must be a minimum of 4mm (3 pixels) - although we suggest 10mm (8 pixels).
    • Text should be a minimum of 50mm (40 pixels) tall.
    • Gaps in between letters should also be 10mm (8 pixels), 5mm (4 pixels) is the  minimum where required.
    • The logo should begin 50mm (from the edge of the mat, or alternatively borders at the edge of the mat should be 50mm (40 pixels) in thickness.
    • Text legibility is improved by using highly contrasting colours.
    • Any white outlines around logos should be at least 7mm (5 pixels) wide.
    • Please convert all fonts to curves.
    • Coloured borders around the edge of mats must be a minimum of 50mm wide.
    • Registered trademarks must be a minimum of 50mm (40 pixels) for readability, or remove if possible and appropriate.
    • When ordering PrintPlush Logo Mats, we can create your design from almost any original reference.

    Digital Art:

     

    1. Save all PC / FREEHAND files as 'Vector Based' .eps files.
    2. Save all Corel draw files as Illustrator .ai files.
    3. Compress all larger files with DropStuff.™ or WINZIP.
    4. Save fonts as outlines or supply appropriate font folders.
    5. Include listed PMS colours of all logos intended for use - required for colour matching.
    6. Supply files on CD or on a 250MB Zip disk.™.
    7. E-mail files smaller than 10MB
    8. Provide all four colour process art with a hard copy colour proof.

    Preferred Programs:

    1. If your artwork is 'spot coloured' then our preferred artwork format is Adobe Illustrator

    Version CS4 or lower) .ai or .eps files.

    1. If your artwork includes photographs then our preferred format is Adobe Photoshop .PSD

    layered files with CMYK colouring at a radio of 1:1 and a minimum 300 PPI.

    1. Please also include a low resolution image for our reference and convert all text into curves to assist with

    any work your process artwork may require.

    1. Please include any incorporated vector art and fonts included separately - as specified above.
    2. Please include a colour proof or printout for matching purposes.

    If your artwork has been approved for position you may supply it as:

    - vector / pixel based .eps or .tiff ensuring that it is saved as CMYK 300 PPI at final size.

    3. The maximum artwork space area for our standard setup is 1100mm x 550mm - for larger

    sizing please enquire.

    1. All artwork provided must be vectorised and saved as either a .eps , .pdf or .ai file.
    2. All artwork including text must be a minimum of 5mm thick for legibility and durability.
    3. All spacing within the artwork must be a minimum of 5mm.
    4. All colours outside of the standard colour range must have PMS numbers.
    5. All fonts must be saved to outlines.
    6. Please convert all text to curves.
    7. We will also accept Bitmap formats such as; .jpeg .gif .tiff or .bmp as our art department can convert these files across into a vector format. However, please note that artwork charges will apply for this method.

    1. To get the process started quickly, please email us your logo in a digital format.
    2. Our preferred artwork format is Adobe Illustrator vector files such .ai, .pdf or .eps.
    3. The maximum artwork size allowed for the smaller 800 x 950 mm EntryMax mat is 315 x 655 mm.
    4. The maximum artwork size for the larger 900 x 1450 mm EntryMax mat is 340 x 935 mm.
    5. These size restrictions enable a neat fit within the flat panel in the middle of the mat.
    6. Please convert all text to curves.
    7. All colours must have PMS numbers.
    8. All artwork including text must be a minimum of 5mm thick for legibility and durability.
    9. All fonts must be saved to outlines.
    10. All spacing within the artwork must be a minimum of 5mm.
    11. We will also accept Bitmap formats such as .jpg .jpeg .gif .tiff or .bmp. as our art departmen can convert these files across into a vector format. However, please note that artwork charge will apply for this method.

  • Bar and counter mats

    Design Guidelines

    1. Please supply all artwork in either CMYK format or with the PMS colours specified for spot jobs - We are unable to accept RGB.
    2. If the artwork has been created using Illustrator, then please convert all fonts to outline or curves otherwise, please supply all fonts separately on a disk.
    3. Please provide all linked and placed images in an editable file and ensure all Photoshop .tiff or .eps files are a minimum of 300dpi
    4. Please create your artwork in either of the software programs listed; Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or Quark Xpress 5.0 Mac.
